Hot Times in Las Vegas
I am a full-time Nurse practitioner at a pain Clinic, who occasionally travels to see family and friends. I need to know that Dakota ( 9-10 yo boxer mix) and Zippy (14 yo Maltese) are safe in order to feel comfortable while I am gone. Dakota is very friendly and vocal. He does not bark all the time , but he will alert of what is going on. He will be very excited to see you and bark a lot while he wags his butt when he first sees you until you pet him. Then he will follow you around for a bit. He is also a snuggle buddy. Zippy is an old man that likes his quiet and occasionally snuggles with you . He tolerates Dakota well.
Our Home & Location
I am located near Summerlin, a western suburb of Las Vegas with easy access to the Freeway - Belt loop 215, and about 20 min from the Strip. It is quiet, the end of the street leads to 2 ponds with ducks. There are a couple of Grocery stores nearby, including Sprout's ( fresh veggies and fruits, organic products)- about 1/2 mi away and a traditional one ( Smith's), 1.3 mi away. Red Rock Canyon and Conservation area is nearby and a nice drive with hiking trails and a very nice Visitor Center explaining life in the desert. The house is 2 stories, 3 bedrooms and you will have your own guest room and a bath across the hall upstairs. There is Central air, wi-fi and very basic cable, but Netflix and Amazon are available via Roku. The dogs have a doggie door and can be alone for about 8 hrs a day. The backyard is lined with Pine trees , there is a shaded canopy to sit under right outside the sliding door.
Responsibilities & Pets
Dakota, the boxer mix, will be happy with an early morning and late evening walk. If only one walk is possible, late evening is better. He is a free eater, but gets a half tablespoon of wet food twice a day.He loves to sit next to you on the couch and sleeps with me at night. He never has accidents in the house, and i leave my bedroom door open for him at night. He does not have to sleep with you, just close your bedroom door and he will sleep on my bed. He is an escape artist with doors, you are better going in and out the garage door and make sure one door is closed before the other one is open. I live near a busy street.
Zippy, the maltese, is an old man that roams the downstairs. He only has 3 teeth and I soften his food with water. He eats moistened dry food with a half tablespoon of wet food twice a day. He came to me a year ago and he occasionally soils in the house, but he manages the doggie door just fine most of the time. He uses the cement patio as his bathroom, so be careful when you step outside. The pooper scooper is handy and quick spray with hose takes care of the rest. He does not go on walks and is happy to sleep most of the day on the big dog bed....
They both eat twice a day and are used to being left alone during the day. + More info
