Country House in beautiful Hudson Valley
We are retired educators who love to travel. We own a cottage in Nova Scotia and spend the summers there. We take the dogs with us when we go to Canada and leave the cats, but there could be other trips in the future when we would leave all the pets.
Our Home & Location
We live on a dead end road in the country, 5 miles west of of Stone Ridge near the Ashoken Reservoir. We have 7 acres, lots of trees, big lawns and a garden. A stream forms one border of our property. The house has two bedrooms and a study, two full bathrooms and a hot tub. The house is very open with skylights and large windows. We have solar panels in the back yard, and a wood burning stove. There is also a heat pump which has a cooling setting for hot summer days. We are located 20 minutes from Kingston, 30 minutes from Woodstock and 2 hours from New York City by car or bus. We are also close to the Catskill Mountains and Mohonk Preserve. The Hudson Valley has a lively art scene, great restaurants, movies and music.
Responsibilities & Pets
Rose is a pretty elderly cat so she sleeps a lot, but she likes to go out in good weather. She sometimes spends the night out. Raisin is a rescue cat so we're not really sure how old he is. He does pee a lot, so the litter box has to be changed every other day. He too will go out but is not adventurous. They both like attention.
