CAT SIT IN COUNTRY SETTING MINUTES FROM DOWNTOWN ASHEVILLE NC
we're Bonnie and Alan, world travelers, retired, home exchangers,
We live immediately outside Asheville NC in Candler – which is a beautiful, peaceful rural setting that is only minutes from downtown. It is truly the best of both worlds, and a tremendous opportunity for you to see why the Asheville area is such a highly regarded place to live or visit.
The only house duties are to enjoy yourselves in our very interesting and pretty area, feed the cats, scoop the 2 litter pans twice daily, water 4 houseplants and pet the cats. One cat, the Birman, is very friendly and loves to be loved & petted, and the other is a sweet but shy Siamese....
Our house will be clean when you arrive, and we would appreciate it if we come home to a similarly clean & tidy house.
Unless you are driving here, a rental car will be necessary as there is not public transport our here in the gorgeous countryside.
Previous sitters, please do contact us if you're interested in returning; we'd love to have you return. And new sitters please contact us if you'd like to experience Asheville yet be in the countryside. It's a great tourist location with lovely scenery and cute little towns all around. It's also a hikers paradise, and there are a wide variety of different things to do during the wonderful summer months.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Our Home & Location
Our newish home, we moved in 10 years ago Feb. '10., is actually in Candler in a quiet country setting set on a 1.38 acre lot in a very small subdivision. Only 21 minutes drive to downtown or the River Arts district. It's a one story house with 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms. The 3rd bedroom is Alan's office. The huge kitchen has a built-in kitchen desk with a PC you are welcome to use if you need one and a printer.
We've got all the usual amenities and techie stuff. Alan's bailiwick, not mine....
Very light filled, in a very pretty and private setting, about 10 min drive to a large newish supermarket. If you must have Whole Foods or such, that's about an 18 min drive. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
you'll have only the basic care responsibilities of feeding and scooping. Although, if you're around during the day, Foo will want multiple meals. He much much prefers canned over kibble. And he's like a hobbit. Remember in the movie how they ate breakfast, coffee break, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and late evening snack. He's vocal and speaks up when he's hungry. Rosie is easier. But there's always kibble and water out for them so you can go out all day without feeling guilty.
They do shed so I ask that before we return you vacuum and of course wipe surfaces/mirrors clean etc . Just normal house sitting responsibilities....
Really, we just want our sitters to enjoy their time in our house and area and give the cats love and attention while at home.
In the interest of honesty, I must say that both the cats , but more so Foo, tend to throw up periodically. Feeding him only very small portions at a time, waiting 5 or more minutes before giving him another very small portion does pretty well eliminate that issue. Our floors are hardwood or vinyl in the kitchen. + More info
