House sitter needed for late November
Looking for a person(s) to take care of my potted plants, mail, and house the last two weeks in November. I am retired and enjoying a lot of traveling this year. I usually have several foster kittens in the house, but not right now, so this is strictly a house sitting experience. Charlotte is beautiful, so I hope you will enjoy the Queen City!
This is a non-smoking home and no other pets are allowed.
Our Home & Location
I live in an older neighborhood, built in the early 1950s, so there are lots of tall trees for shade everywhere. I am a few blocks from a small neighborhood park with an easy walking trail. My cottage is small with two bedrooms and one bath. There is a laundry room (you are welcome to use), with an updated kitchen and bath. There is very good WiFi and cable TV. Several grocery stores and drug stores are within five miles of my home. You will need your own car or bicycle for transportation.
Many different activities and sites are here for you to enjoy: U.S. National Whitewater Center (raft, kayak, zip line, mountain bike, & rope courses), Discovery Place (hands-on museum for all ages), Billy Graham Library, NASCAR Hall of Fame and Charlotte Motor Speedway (NASCAR racing experience for those who feel the need for speed!), The Levine Museum of the New South, Latta Plantation Nature Preserve and Carolina Raptor Center (in the same area, plenty of hiking trails), Mint Museum, plenty of places to shop (from Carolina Place Outlet Mall to the high-end shops in SouthPark Mall), and lots of locally made craft beer (many breweries have live music sessions, game nights, food trucks, and even exercise or yoga classes before the beer drinking!).
Responsibilities & Pets
Your responsibilities include taking in the mail, watering the flower pots in the front yard when there is a need, and rolling the trash and recycling bins to the curb on Sunday evening and back again on Mondays.
If you want to take an overnight trip, that is fine, too. I am a couple of hours from the beautiful Smoky Mountains.
