Doug is a retired self employed artist and Rose is a non-profit director. We stay busy caring for our home and our pets. We are liberal minded people and want to be good stewards of our environment. Our pets are our family, so we want to connect with housesitters who have the same ethic about pets.
Our Home & Location
We have a comfortable three bedroom, two bath home. It is a cape cod style home constructed in the early 40s and nestled in a grove of doug firs and oak trees. There is a shop building in the back part of our property with a studio apartment. It is rented out to a single man. We see him on occassion driving in and out of our driveway. You may receive mail for him at our mail box which can be placed in his mail box on the porch entry to his studio apt. His name is Jon. In the spring and summer we have a large organic garden which will need watering daily and the patio will have plants which will also need to be watered.
Responsibilities & Pets
Feed pets twice a day. Provide fresh water every day. The dogs have a pet door so they can go in and out. On rain days the poodle has to be carried out, as he hates the rain. Also on same rain days, we do place puppy pads in the LR for accidents. As the pups come in the house their paws need to be wiped down. The poodle takes a pill every morning.
Bring mail in daily Monday through Friday,...
Keep the house tidy. The mud room will need to be cleaned regularly as that is wher dogs bring in mud, leaves, etc. A large towel is placed in the mud room to collect mud and clean dog paws. The towel will need to be washed and dried every other day. + More info
