SE PDX sitter for September
I travel a bunch for work. I'm a writer, speaker, and psychotherapist.
Our Home & Location
My house is quiet and comfortable, with a big yard and gardens. It's just off the highway, a few blocks from both the Springwater Corridor and Multi-use bike paths. It's on the #14 bus-line, and not far from a couple of transit lines. (green line is closest). Outside of rush hours, it takes about 20 minutes to get downtown from my house. Lents has a new food truck pod - half a mile walk from the house. There's a brew house/restaurant in the town center too. New shops are scheduled to open Fall and Winter 2018/19.
No smoking anywhere on the property.
Responsibilities & Pets
My boys are well behaved old gentlemen-cats who live outside. They love a good snuggle, though, and will happily curl up with you in the garden or patio. There are currently 4 chickens in the coop. None of the beasts need a lot of care - feeding, watering, head rubs for the cats, and treats for the chickens will do it! One cat will need the outside faucet turned on and off for a bit in the morning and evening, as he won't really drink water from anywhere else. It's super important that you pay attention to his water intake - he has kidney disease and will get very sick if he's not hydrated.
In the warmer months, you'll need to water the gardens and plant pots, and indoor plants might need water depending on the length of your stay . There are beehives on the property - their caretaker will be in occasionally to look in on them.
