Petsitting 12yo dog SW Portland, house with backyard oasis
Hi! My husband and I love to travel with our two daughters (2 and 4 years old)- sometimes short weekend trips, sometimes longer vacations. When we're away, our 12 year old dog Mikka loves to have new friends keep her company at home. We're pretty easy going, but communicate clearly and promptly and are easy to reach by text (when in the same time zone). We've used other pet sitting sites many times but looking forward to trying out this concept.
Our Home & Location
We live in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood called Bridlemile only 10 minutes from downtown. Our house was built in 1961, 4bd/3ba and sits on 1/2 acre. On the main floor are 3 bedrooms (Master and 2 kids rooms) and 2 baths. There is an additional guest bedroom (queen bed) and bathroom in the finished basement. Comfortable foam air mattress also available. The neighborhood is great for long walks as long as you don't mind gradual hills- no sidewalks but low traffic streets.
Amenities: WiFi throughout; two large HDTVs with Roku, DVD player, antenna (no cable tv); large backyard with comfortable patio; kids playroom and lots of toys; washer/dryer; offstreet parking

Responsibilities & Pets
Mikka is pretty low maintenance and easy going, she just needs two meals a day (Breakfast/dinner), time outside in the yard or walk to the park, and loves snuggles on the couch. She is happy to sleep near you or can sleep on her dog bed in another room. She is used to being home alone all day while we are at work (up to 10 hours).
For the house: Garbage/recycling bins need to go out Thursday night for early Friday pickup.
For longer stays only: There are some indoor plants that need occasional water. Appreciate mail being brought in from the mailbox a couple times a week. Yard is on a sprinkler/drip system, but flower boxes near porch need water during warm dry weather.
