Stay on a converted tugboat with 3 hilarious dogs
I am a purposefully-recycled attorney who now lives life as a full-time freelance writer. More and more, I am needed to travel to take care of business.
I have three wonderful dogs who need all the love and attention when I'm gone. Fritz is a 12 year old angel/terrier mix. Blue is a 5 year old pit mix who is in love with life, as well as all people, dogs, and cats. Monkey is a 1.5 year old mutt who looks like someone put a golden retriever in the dryer on high-heat. She is short and hilarious....
Perhaps the coolest part for you is that I live in a large, WWII-era tugboat that has been completely converted to a 2br/3ba house on the inside. It has a full kitchen, regular bathrooms, and views that will blow your mind. The total living area is approximately 2,500 square feet. There are 4 separate outside decks from which you can watch the world go by. The boat sits at the end of a beautiful marina on the Columbia River, about 45 minutes outside of Portland. From here, you can watch bald eagles, blue heron, sea lions, otters .... you name it.
I will be traveling quite a bit in the coming year and it occurred to me that some of you might like staying on the river among the sailboats and abundant wildlife. This is a place where people go to vacation. Staying on the tugboat is a unique and magical experience. I'm lucky enough to live here all the time. I hope you can enjoy it from time to time too! + More info
Our Home & Location
A stunning WWII-era tugboat that sits the Columbia River just under an hour's drive outside of Portland, Oregon. The boat, which has been fully converted to a house, is moored to a marina so you literally float on the river all day. There are multiple decks for you to kick back on while you enjoy the river.
Responsibilities & Pets
There is an off-leash dog-park just 2 blocks from the marina. There are also endless river-front trails that you can explore with the pups. Please give them a big walk in the morning and some potty walks throughout the day. You won't regret the scenery!
