Last Minute Dog Sitter Needed in Portland, Oregon
My husband, Dave, and I just became empty nesters this Fall. We are lucky enough to have our daughters sharing the same week for Spring Break, so we're planning to get together with them to visit some national parks in Utah and Arizona. However, we won't have fun until we know our sweet boy, Henry, is in good hands!
Our Home & Location
Our house is a modern ranch style home in a quiet NW Portland neighborhood. Forest Park (one of the largest city parks in the country) is on either side of you as you drive less than 10 minutes to trendy NW 23rd. Of course, this is just the beginning of where you find the great food and colorful personality that Portland is known for.
Responsibilities & Pets
We're looking for someone primarily to keep Henry company. (He thinks he's a human). He truly is a love of a dog and is most content sleeping at your feet. Ideally, Henry wouldn't be left alone for more than four hours at a time. Henry needs to be fed and have water available, as well as be let outside to do his business. He'd love to have a walk each day, but at a minimum we'd like him walked 3 times a week.
Henry has a couple of traits worth knowing about. We have an Invisible Fence. Of course, he doesn't wear his Invisible Fence collar when you take him out for a walk, but he won't voluntarily cross the line of where the fence is. We have to lift him over the invisible line. Anyway, he's a big boy (65 lbs.), so I don't actually pick him up, but I pick up enough of his front so that he thinks he's being carried across the line. (My husband does pick him up because he can)....
The other thing you need to know is that there are a few dogs in the neighborhood who Henry feels the need to bark at when they walk by. It doesn't seem to bother the other dogs or their owners. + More info
