Sweet little dog, great neighborhood!
Hi! I frequently travel internationally for work. I hope to find a sitter who can walk my dog at least twice a day and can spend time with her in her familiar space. She is a very sweet dog and enjoys belly rubs and cuddle time. I adopted her when I lived in Tanzania so I have no idea how old she is but I guess 9 years old or so. Javi gravitates to people more than dogs, and seems to really like little toddlers and babies. She gets along with other dogs most of the time, but sometimes she can be defensive. We don't usually go to dog parks because she doesn't like to run around and play with or chase other dogs; she doesn't play fetch. She just loves being around people who give her lots of affection!
Our Home & Location
I live in a one bedroom apartment in the historic Ledroit Park/Bloomingdale neighborhood. The houses here are spacious and elegant rowhouses with interesting architecture and pretty gardens. Several great restaurants are within walking distance, and its a short ride to the Mall and downtown. The owners of the apartment live in the house right upstairs and are friendly and helpful. There is a shared patio in the back with comfy funiture. Right out the back door of the house is a beautiful community-managed park. Its a hidden gem and my dog loves to go there for walks and to see other dogs.
Responsibilities & Pets
I only have one dog so not a lot is needed. My dog, Javi, is used to walking 3 times a day and being fed twice a day (breakfast and dinner) and make sure she has lots of clean water in her bowl. She has always slept with me in my bed, but she has cushions to sleep if you don't want her to be in the bed. She expects to get some bellyrubs at night before sleeping and most mornings she likes to have belly rubs before getting up. Javi is terribly afraid of fireworks (and thunderstorms), so I do not take her outside if there are any around. Javi sheds a little so it might be helpful to use the vaccum once a week or something like that.
