Urban Hounds Seeks Company
Travis is a sweetheart, but occasionally I travel without him! He's a beloved and aging mutt, used to being on the sofa and getting plenty of belly rubs.
On this trip, he'll be joined by Aubrey, about a week after I leave. I fostered Travis and Aubrey together about seven years ago and they make a wonderful, funny pair....
For scale, Travis is 30lbs, Aubrey is about 50. + More info
Our Home & Location
I live in a fun, busy neighborhood called Columbia Heights. The green line metro is 3 blocks away and there are major bus lines 1 and 2 blocks away; if you need parking it's on street and I have a visitors parking pass. There is a bike share stand on my block. Around the metro are loads of shops and restaurants and if you're not walking Travis, it's a 20 minute walk to the National Zoo and Rock Creek Park. Of course with a hound who must sniff everything, it's a little longer and I do tend to drive to the park.
The neighborhoods of Petworth, Park View, Adams Morgan, U Street, Logan Circle, Dupont Circle and Mt. Pleasant are within walking distance; Brookland and Downtown are a quick bus or metro ride away....
There is no elevator. The apartment has two bedrooms and each has a full bath; you would stay in one. Kitchen is normal, couches are comfortable, there is central heat and a gas fireplace. There is a washer and dryer en suite and the guest bedroom (yours) has its own bathroom. + More info
Responsibilities & Pets
Three walks daily to at least the end of the street; I like to ramble at least a few blocks around the neighborhood daily. Rock Creek Park is the heart of the city; I park across the street from Pierce Mill (2401 Tilden St NW) when I take him. He can drink pond and creek water and eat grass to his heart's content!
He gets a little less than one scoop of dry food in the morning and evening and occasional treats.
