Home in NE DC with Kendrick the Weimaraner mix
We are in the need of a trusty house and pet sitter for our home in Brentwood in NE DC and our beloved dog Kendrick. We'll be heading to India for a couple weeks to visit Michelle's Indian half of the family and are hoping to we can find someone that can allow Ken to stay at home instead of shipping him off to boarding.
Our Home & Location
Our home is a full 3 story town house in the Brentwood neighborhood of Northeast DC. It is about a 15 minute walk to the Rhode Island Ave Metro and just off of 295/NY Ave. If you're a biker, we also have three bikes free to use for transportation (one of which is electric!). The street we live on is very quiet, neighbors are very nice, and quite a few of them have dogs as well. There is a little bit of backyard space with an open air garage door and parking pad for a car if you'd like to avoid street parking. Close to Ivy City and Brookland, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. If you like to get outside, we're also very close to the National Arboretum, a fantastic place to take the dog for a long walk, as well as lots of green space as you head north towards Catholic University and the Brookland neighborhood.
Responsibilities & Pets
Major responsibilities include walking and taking care of Kendrick, our 2.5 year old Weimaraner mix. As the saying goes, a tired dog is a well behaved dog. Getting out his energy is always key, and we try and take him to the nearby dog park most nights to play/fetch to help with that. Depending on your schedule, during weekdays he will have walks and hikes scheduled around lunch time each day that you won't need to worry about, with the weekend being up to you. He is a very sweet and cuddly dog, loves to play and gets along with other dogs, and loves his people as well. He is about 60 pounds.
Other responsibilities include general cleanliness of the house, collecting the mail from the mailbox, and watering some plants in the backyard.
