Peaceful Waterfront Bungalow
My husband and I like to travel and have had house sitters previously. We have just moved to this area and do not know many people up here yet and this is why we are joining Trusted Housesitters. We are both retired, we live on the South end of the Puget Sound on the water. We are close to Downtown Olympia and hiking and biking trails. One and half hours from Downtown Seattle.
Our Home & Location
Our home is situated on approximately 2 acres of waterfront property. We are located on Eld Inlet in Young Cove. Very quiet and peaceful. We are 5 minutes to the highway and about 10 minutes to town. Our home is a studio cottage, very comfortable for a single person or a couple who like to spend time together. We have all the amenities needed to make this a very comfortable and cozy place to stay. We have a propane fireplace, washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, oven and all other necessities to make this a home. Lots of outdoor seating (weather permitting) gas BBQ etc... Very nice to sit and watch the tide come and go and all the seals and other marine life. Also, great for bird watching, including eagles, blue heron and more.
Responsibilities & Pets
We have an eleven year old yellow lab and a twelve year old cat. Both animals love people. George, the cat will hide under the bed for a while before feeling real comfortable. Newman, the dog is a lover! He was raised as a guide dog but unfortunately did not make the cut. We have had him since he was 1 1/2 yrs old, since 2009 and he brings us great pleasure. As long as he is with people, he is very happy!! We take him everywhere with us and he is a great traveler. We have had George since he was a kitten and is an indoor and outdoor cat. The two animals get along well and are both great pets. No health issues with either one at this time. They are both current on all shots and healthcare needs. Newman does not like to be left all day in the house without people, but can be for short periods of time with no problems.
