Port Townsend Washington
My wife and I are retired, in our 70s, and have lived happily in Port Townsend for 11 years. Our dog is an intimate member of the family. He is beautiful, very smart, friendly to people and other dogs. And did I mention funny?!
Our Home & Location
Our home is a comfortable 2-bedroom (plus office), 3-bath house, with a deck, hot tub, and large back yard. We live in a safe, quiet and friendly community (~70 homes) overlooking Discovery Bay, about 15 minutes from Port Townsend, on Washington's Olympic Peninsula. There is a dog park on our street, and hiking trails and beaches nearby. Port Townsend is a beautiful Victorian seaport town, with a vibrant, friendly community and many opportunities for recreational activities, as well as art galleries, a fabulous independent film theater, and much more. (See http://enjoypt.com/ ). The last housesitter who stayed here for several weeks in winter ended up moving to PT! NOTE: We'd be glad to send more photos.
Responsibilities & Pets
Housesitter is responsible for keeping house in clean order, maintaining hot tub if used, and taking care of Zorro. This includes at least 2 walks per day (20-30 minutes, depending on weather) and/or play time in the dog park. Also: cleaning and drying him off as needed, periodic brushing, and feeding twice daily. We will have paid for some day-boarding services nearby in the event that the housesitter wants/needs to be gone from the house more than 3-4 hours. And there will be plenty of treats on hand!
