Beautiful Wallingford bungalow
I work as an architect from home and my husband is a retired engineer, so our 2 dogs, Shiva and Adina, get to see us most of the time. Shiva is the elderly gentleman and is in great shape for a 14 year old. Adina is the young upstart, but she's intelligent and sweet. Both dogs like to walk, play, and to cuddle.
Our Home & Location
Our home is located in one of Seattle's most desirable neighborhoods, Wallingford. Here, you are a five minute drive to University of WA, and a 20 minute drive to downtown. There is excellent bus service and bike trails. It's easily walkable to beautiful gardens, parks, restaurants, stores, and great neighbors. I walk my dogs every day and many times go into stores, banks, etc. with the dogs and am happily welcomed with treats. 3 blocks away from our house is Gasworks Park, a park famous for its unusual structures and striking views of Seattle and Lake Union, and two blocks away are two of Seattle's best restaurants.
Our home has been lovingly re-designed over the past years by Patricia, an architect, and Shmuel, an engineer. We have a delightful entry porch, that has two benches where one may sit and watch the world go by. The living room has a gas fireplace and sofas to snuggle with the dogs upon. Throughout the house there are many books, which you are welcome to borrow....
From the living room is a formal dining room, and from there one enters the kitchen. The kitchen was recently updated too be a light-filled space to cook and sit either at the bar or a small dining nook. In the kitchen, are 100's of cookbooks waiting to help you prepare great meals. The kitchen includes 2 ovens, a gas cooktop, large refrigerator (Liebher), a Kitchenaide dishwasher, and a Miele espresso making system.
From the kitchen, walk out to a dining deck, filled with pots of herbs to use in your cooking. The deck has a view of the ship canal (as does the kitchen). We often leave the door open in nice weather, so the dogs can come and go as they please. Actually, they can come and go as they please because from the garage in the basement, is a battery-controlled dog door that leads to a fenced back yard. The back yard had a wisteria-covered arbor with a seating area and hammock. The rest of the yard is filled with fruit trees and vegetable plants.
Upstairs is a large master bedroom that has a view of Lake Union, the ship canal, and University Bridge. There is a small deck that has a view of downtown Seattle. The bed is a California king, and has an excellent mattress. Here also is a large TV that can be enjoyed from a small table and lounge chairs or from bed. The room stays fresh and airy-cool with the cross-ventilation created by operable skylights and fans. There is an attached bath, complete with soaking tub, shower, and electric towel warmer.
Also upstairs is a powder room, a library that may be used as a guest room, and Shmuel's office.
In the basement is an art studio, family room with TV and murphy bed, a bath with a steam shower, laundry, shop, and garage.
The home is heated with radiant heat and decorated throughout with beautiful artwork. + More info
