Seattle, Washington: Beautiful Montlake neighborhood
Our home was built in 1924. It's located on Interlaken Park in Seattle's Montlake neighborhood, near the University of Washington campus. The location is ideal for exploring Seattle. In addition to nearby bus service, the UW Light Rail Station is about a mile north of us which makes it easy to get downtown. Also, the fabulous Burke Gilman bike trail is also a little over a mile away.
Our Home & Location
Our home is quite comfortable. There is a sun room off the kitchen with TV, as well as a living room in which to relax. The house abuts Interlaken Park and is about a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Washington Park Arboretum. While Montlake is in the City of Seattle, it is a an older neighborhood with mature trees and lots of greenery. The small commercial area is about 5 blocks walking distance. There's a bike shop where you can rent bikes, a lovely neighborhood restaurant, Cafe Lago, and a handy convenience store. For grocery shopping, there are several options in nearby Capitol Hill as well as the University Village.
Responsibilities & Pets
The cats are pretty easy. They can be indoor or out and do quite a bit of napping! Guido and Gretchen are both seniors, and each has a special diet (pills added to cat food). It's nothing too complex.
Our dog Pickles is a high energy, active breed and adores playing fetch in the park and going for long walks. She also enjoys human company. We are looking for a house sitter who enjoys active breeds and is willing to spend a couple hours in both the morning and afternoon for long walks and active play with Pickles. Her breed likes to bark, so be forewarned! That said, she is generally quiet unless she has something to bark about (postal carrier, other dogs, delivery people). In the evening, she enjoys hanging out with human company and will happily watch TV or sit nearby when you read ;)
