Sadie and Pearl would welcome you - - and your dog (and maybe your cat, too!)
We are about to become semi-retired and are planning to travel a lot over the next several years. Our son and daughter have just about left the nest; only our dog and cat remain at home. So we are looking for responsible dog and cat lovers to take care of our super-affectionate girls, Sadie and Pearl. At this time, our early 2019 dates are slightly flexible on both ends.
Our Home & Location
We have a 4 bedroom home in Howard, on the west side of Green Bay. Spacious kitchen -- great for couples who like to cook together. We have a guest room, but if you prefer the master bedroom, that is fine. There is a private backyard with a large deck, and grill, etc. The neighborhood's feeling is suburban, but with extra wildlife (deer, ducks in the backyard, sandhill cranes nearby, etc.); 10 minutes drive to Lambeau Field, home of the Packers. One hour to Door County (great for day trips). Lots of good fishing nearby. (Though in Winter, it is ice fishing! Lots of other winter sports are possible, however.) Near Mountain Bay Trail (90 mile approx. Bicycling and hiking trail between Green Bay and Wausau). Popular kayaking river a few minutes away; our son's kayak might be available to use. Quite possible that sitters could use our daughter's care while here, if needed.
Responsibilities & Pets
Sadie and Pearl are in good health and they are easy to care for. Sadie needs 2 short or medium walks each day, on her leash, and to be let out once or twice/day in addition to her walks; and breakfast and supper. Pearl just wants food and a freshened-up litter box once a day. She is strictly an indoor cat. Other than that, we'd like the house to be reasonably clean and a few plants to be watered. Hopefully refill the bird feeders as needed. We are fairly flexible, and if the sitter(s) wanted to do an overnight or 2 away from our house, we would probably be ok them taking Sadie to her favorite doggie day care place for an overnight (she loves it there, but only for short stays). We would also consider the sitter bringing their own dog(s) along, , assuming the dog is good around cats, ( or maybe even a cat or 2), etc.
