We met Toni while living in the same city as she did for a while, and we grew to be great friends. She was the first person I thought of to watch our dog when we decided to take a longer vacation (which we had not done in years because of our dog's condition). Toni did a fantastic job taking care of our 11-year-old Shiba Inu in our home while we traveled for 15 days. Our dog has had occasional seizures the past 5 years, which are sometimes brought on by stress. Of course, our dog was stressed that our family was not home, and so had a few seizures while we were gone. Toni handled the situation beautifully and stayed calm and stayed right beside our dog while she was seizing. Then she kept a close eye on our dog that day and made sure that she was stable and had a chance to rest the remainder of the day. She stayed home with her to make sure all was well. Our dog is an important member of our family and we were the most concerned about her well-being while we were gone. I must also add that even though the housesit itself was not of primary importance to us, that Toni did an amazing job of keeping our house cleaned and tidied up to the level that I personally keep it (and I'm very particular about it being quite clean), which I did not expect at all and was pleasantly surprised by. Toni is warm and caring, and she's very responsible. She kept to our dog's schedule and medications and supplements, as our dog has had issues with her knees giving out in the past and we try to keep her comfortable with the appropriate medications and supplements to help her joints. It is even more wonderful that we know Toni gave Reiki treatments to our dog to help her to become more calm and relaxed while we were away. It is a special gift and we highly recommend Toni if you are considering someone to housesit or to care for your animals, especially for aged animals. She will do her best to accommodate them and their special needs.
