A Delightful and Caring Couple and Wonderful House and Pet Sitters Heather and Vic house-sat for us for a month in late February-end of March, 2020, a sit that was shortened a few days due to the Corona Virus travel restrictions that were going into effect. We had hoped to get to spend a little time together, but the travel restrictions forced the schedule and it was time to get back to Canada before the airlines quit flying! On our first full day together, it was clear to us that we could confidently rely on Vic and Heather to care of our home and pets---and leave without any apprehension. They are warm, friendly, caring, and very competent sitters -- taking wonderful care of the 2 cats (one with special needs), and our two dogs--both of whom are needy for attention! Vic took time with our young Lab to reinforce obedience/commands and has skill working with dogs. Additionally, we had a appliance repair tech come out before we left, and Vic knew almost as much about refrigerators and washing machines as the repair tech---a wealth of experience in home and mechanical maintenance. And, their experience in home ownership and sitting was evident, they picked up the security/telecommunications systems and special routines quickly and asked all the right questions. We found Heather and Vic to be very efficient in their planning and communications before and during the sit, extremely competent in managing the house and pets, and very caring in that they took extra time: to continue our practice of visiting our elderly, home bound friends; helping a young neighbor practice English and volunteering with our English Conversation Club program. Our full time worker (Moises) enjoyed Heather and Vic very much--Moises could not have been more complementary--- to paraphrase his observations: "if everyone was as caring, this world would be a better place". In short, this was a 10 of 10 experience for us---it would be difficult to find more friendly, considerate, and competent sitters as Heather and Vic, and we can heartily recommend them to others. Heather and Vic have an open invitation to return to our Costa Rican home, as sitters or as guests, and we hope their future plans will allow that to happen.
