Bennett & Veronika looked after Bethany Thomas’s pets & home

My cat absolutely adores Bennett and as much as it pains me to say it, he probably prefers his company to mine! I first asked Ben to look after Salem a few months ago just as a one off due to a last minute cattery cancellation. I had been really anxious about leaving Salem in a cattery as it would’ve been his first time and I was concerned about him feeling stressed. After watching Ben and Salem together however, albeit for only a few hours, it was very evident that asking Ben to look after him was definitely the better decision. All cat owners will know that cats are notoriously fickle in their nature so to find an individual who established familiarity, trust and bonded with Salem so quickly was invaluable. I’ve yet to meet someone who is more reliable and flexible (often we have had to ask him to check in on Salem with as little as two days notice). Whilst I haven’t specifically asked Ben to house -sit , my flat is always in perfect condition when I return home (arguably cleaner than when we are home), and mail from the box collected, ready for us. Any dishes he is welcome to use are always washed to an exceptional standard (I’m very particular about this) and neatly put away. Perhaps the most valuable thing to me however are the constant updates Ben provides regarding Salem and his well-being. This includes almost daily videos and pictures, expressing any concerns he has due to a change in Salem’s eating habits (he was fine, just being stubborn because he could be) and any other questions that would generally benefit Salem in the long run. Ben has been one of my friends for a short time now and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a pet-sitter (especially anxious new pet owners like me). He is amazing with animals and anyone who decides to hire him would be incredibly lucky to do so.
