A few years back I had two cats with completely opposite personalities. Jake was a very affectionate lap cat who craved affection and attention and George was a once-feral cat who preferred to steer clear of humans and to spend most of his time in a cubby-hole where he felt safe. Jake required medicine twice a day. When Trish was watching my cats I knew I didn't have to worry about them or the house. and was free to focus on my time away. After I returned from one particular 4-week trip it was clear that my lap cat Jake missed the affection and attention that Trish had lavished on him while I was away. My cat George seemed to be as comfortable as can be expected for a feral cat – which was impressive given that he was often very stressed after I had been away.
