Leanne & Peter looked after Maureen’s pets & home

I write to introduce Peter and Leanne Caithness who have entered the field of housesitters recently. We’ve been away quite frequently of late, but we have been delighted to have found this couple to take care of everything in our absence. We always worry that we can overstate the good points of our pets, and that a housesitter might not find them to be as well-behaved as promised. This time, Leanne and Peter came to stay with our 10 year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback (Holly) who sleeps most of the day, and is pretty good, there’s our other manic 2-year old Ridgeback (Mali) who needs to know everything and seems to operate at high speed during the day and finally Archie, a female cat, but with a boy’s name). Archie is quite special in that she turns 21 next month, but she is still very well — she has no medicines or tablets but does have a renal problem which means she is constantly looking for food. She’s fed around 4 or 5 sachets a day and she’ll certainly let you know if she’s hungry. So quite a menagerie for Leanne and Peter to take on to start off with! But on coming home from the first sit with Peter and Leanne, any worries we might have had swiftly disappeared. The dogs were happy and even Archie seemed well-fed, which was amazing. The house was spotless and we found Leanne making their bed after she had washed all their bedding and towels in the morning. From there on, we asked Leanne and Peter to stay every time we wouldn’t be here. We found them to be sensible and considerate, and they sent us frequent communication so we could see what was happening at home. All in all, we found them to be perfect housesitters and would easily recommend them to any role they might be considered for.
