Ann & David looked after Shirlee Baird’s pets & home

Ann and her partner (Dave) have been an absolute saviour to me. There have been times that I have been called away to work at short notice and Ann has always been flexible and responsive to my calls for support, wherever possible. I have 3 young, high energy dogs (2 Springer Spaniels and a rescue from a beach in Thailand), that absolutely adore Ann and Dave. There’s always a few cries in my home whenever they leave. Ann and Dave look after my dogs (I should add my turtle too), just like I do. The dogs are all over them on the sofa and sleep up beside them on the bed - it’s nice to know that when I’m not there, they continue to get consistent love and attention and aren’t boarded in some cold concrete kennel somewhere. That being said, Ann has been helping a lot with the training of my young Springer - teaching her recall off the lead and to not jump on people. Ann and Dave are caring and compassionate to the core and have an amazing energy. Despite the weather, my dogs get walked twice a day and are fed, exactly as I prescribe. Whenever I have returned home to Ann and Dave, my house has always been spotless. Dog mess has always been picked up (and cleaned), bins emptied and even my plants have been watered. Ann keeps us updated throughout each sit, sending photos and messages to reassure us everything was going smoothly. We wouldn’t hesitate to invite Ann and Dave back for future house sits. They are an absolute asset and the dogs absolutely adore them. They are really friendly and have an excellent sense of humour - I usually invite them to stay a couple of days extra just so I can catch up with them myself
