I have known Jan for nearly 30 years, since we both worked at the University of Wisconsin. I know her as an extremely competent, organized, and responsible professional, but also as a warm and caring mother and friend. Both she and her husband are animal lovers and currently have, and love, both a rescue dog (German shepherd) and a rescue cat. They have also parented other dogs in the past. I have no doubt that they would be ideal home- and pet-sitters. They have traveled independently all around the globe, and have lived on a sailboat for extended periods of time. Both things exhibit the fact that they embody the flexibility, the resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills (and no doubt the repair skills!) that anyone would be thrilled to have in individuals caring for their home and fur-family. I can recommend both Jan and her husband without reservation!! They are precisely the people that I would love to leave in charge of my home and pets!
