Gennie & Frank farmsat with their two easygoing dogs on our 100 acre farm after traveling the 1300 miles to our location a day in advance. They were able to get instructions from us and go through the chores that would need to be completed and introduce their dogs to our two dogs before we left; the dogs became great friends. They managed our beef cattle and sheep that were on a rotational grazing program to be moved each day and provided water. They also took care of our horses, cats, dogs, and chickens. One of the cats required some medicine unexpectedly before we departed and we felt very confident in their ability to take care of her according to the vet's instructions. They drove our tractor and 4 wheeler to move hay using a pumping and gravity feeding system. THey also did some additional weed wacking, mowing, and tiding up in general. They were very good at asking us questions and communication including sending photos of how things were going. They gracefully handled the work and adapted as farmers need to do when not everything goes according to plan. They handled the rotational grazing moving the temporary fencing with electricity and kept the animals safe; making sure all had food and water. Our hard work in preparation to simplify as much as we could and do a prebriefing to explain everything while we went overseas with limited internet. We hope they might be willing to assist us again in the future as we felt comfortable leaving our over 200 animals in their care.
