TLDR: Highly recommended for dog, horse and house sitting. I don’t often leave reviews, but had to follow through with my offer to Sharell and her husband Leif who were recently SUPER pet/horse/house sitters for two large dogs AND two horses. I found them online and first messaged Sharell who quickly, kindly and professionally responded to all of my “newbie” questions about hiring a stranger to stay in my home and care for my animals during our 10-day vacation. I contacted her several months before our trip and was impressed that she made the commitment and followed through with it ESPECIALLY when I learned Sharell had major hip surgery just weeks before our planned trip. Because caring for horses can be complicated, I asked them if they would like to visit our home before the planned house/pet-sitting and get walked through the routine. They immediately agreed and scheduled a visit that worked for my busy schedule. I later learned they live over an hour away (one way), so that was even more amazing! When Leif arrived for instructions he was fantastic: listened, asked intelligent questions, answered all our questions and was impressive as a professional. He definitely earned my trust during that visit and made us feel like we were leaving our animals in good care. Sharell and Leif arrived on our departure day in time to be reintroduced to the dogs (one of which is a COVID puppy so takes a little longer to warm up to strangers) and refreshed on routine. They asked how often we would like updates on the animals and I responded “when there is a problem” which shows how much trust they had already earned. Of course, it’s hard to leave fur-babies for 10 days and not want an update, so I ended up texting to check on how things were going. I received quick responses with photos of the dogs and horses being happy. Leif even let me know that one of our horse supplements was running low and asked if he needed to get more (above and beyond for sure!). Now anyone with horses will know they have clocks for stomachs, and expect to be fed on-time all the time. If pet sitters do not feed my horses on time according to their schedule, I know; because when I return they are antsy and/or mean to each other around feed time. I am fully recommending Sharell and Leif to you because my horses were happy when we returned, which means they never had to wonder if or when they would be fed. And to a horse this is really all they need to be happy. Which makes me happy. :) Add to this already glowing recommendation that our home was spotless when we returned (they even did dishes and changed the bedsheets), and the dogs were obviously happy also, and you have the reason I’m here writing this review! Thanks Sharell and Leif for taking such great care of our animals and home!
