Terms and Conditions
1. General information
1.1. By entering this contest, valid entries received by TrustedHousesitters Limited (“TrustedHousesitters”) in accordance with these Terms and Conditions have an opportunity to win:
1 x first place prize:
- One-year TrustedHousesitters Premium Combined membership: Enjoy unlimited home and pet care and unlimited sits with a free one-year Premium Combined membership plan (RRP $399/£329 per year).
1.2. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter this contest. Internet access is required to enter the contest so data charges may apply. TrustedHousesitters shall not be responsible for any data charges or other costs which an entrant may incur in connection with entering this contest.
1.3. The contest will start on 31 March 2026 and will close on 20 April 2026 at 11.59pm (BST). Only entries received by TrustedHousesitters during this time will be valid. All entries will be judged manually and the winner will be selected by an internal panel.
2. The organiser of this contest
2.1. The organiser of the contest is TrustedHousesitters Ltd. 20-22 Wenlock Road, London. N1 7GU
2.2. This contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Meta, X or any other social media platform.
3. Who can enter
3.1. Each entrant can enter up to three submissions, for three different pets - any entries thereafter will be disqualified.
3.2. The contest is open to any individual that is:
(a) aged 21 years and over;
(b) not an employee of TrustedHousesitters or an immediate family member of such employees.
3.3. All entrants must comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, and these Terms and Conditions.
3.4. TrustedHousesitters reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who, in its reasonable opinion has:
(a) tampered with, or disrupted, this contest;
(b) breached these Terms and Conditions; or
(c) otherwise attempted to do any of the items listed in paragraphs 3.4(a) to 3.4(b) above.
4. How to enter
4.1. To enter the contest an entrant needs to:
(a) Complete the contest entry form and submit it;
(b) The entrant must submit the following information when entering:
(i) one image or video of the nominated pet;
(ii) information about the pet, including pet name, species and general location (for example city/country);
(iii) a short description explaining why the pet should be recognised as the most pampered pet; and
(iv) the entrant’s contact details and any other information reasonably required to administer the contest.
TrustedHousesitters may specify additional or alternative entry requirements on the contest page.
4.2 Everyone who is identifiable in an image/video must have consented to their image and likeness being submitted to this contest and used by TrustedHousesitters in accordance with these Terms and Conditions (including possible publication on TrustedHousesitters’ social media channels and other marketing materials). The entrant is responsible for ensuring there is no infringement of any third-party privacy or other rights.
4.3 Entries must not contain visible personal information (such as home addresses, phone numbers or personal documents), and should not include third-party branding, logos or copyrighted material unless the entrant has permission. TrustedHousesitters may disqualify entries that include children or other identifiable individuals where appropriate consent cannot be demonstrated.
4.4 If the pet does not belong to the entrant, the entrant must seek the owner's prior written permission before entering the contest.
4.5 No synthetic or AI-generated images or videos will be accepted. Entrants may make minor edits (for example cropping, brightness or colour correction), but must not materially alter, manipulate or falsify the appearance of the pet or the scene. TrustedHousesitters may disqualify any entry that it reasonably believes has been materially edited or manipulated.
4.6 Participation is only possible on one’s own behalf and joint submissions are not allowed. Each entrant may submit up to three entries in accordance with clause 3.1. Bulk entries and entries submitted by third parties, agencies or consumer groups will not be accepted.
5. Winning and publicity
5.1. The winner will be announced and contacted directly by email in the days following close of the contest. The winner will have up to 7 days to claim the prize after this first communication
5.2. The winner will have to provide additional information and may be required to provide additional documents to TrustedHousesitters within a specified time. This includes but is not limited to a brief discussion with TrustedHousesitters to ensure pet welfare before the final announcement.
5.3. The winner should allow up to 28 days for delivery of the prize (calculated from the date that the winner provides all information requested by TrustedHousesitters). The prize will be sent digitally to the winner - no postal address is required
5.4. A winner will be disqualified as a winner if:
(a) that person fails to contact TrustedHousesitters with the time frame specified in paragraph 5.1;
(b) that person fails to provide such additional information and documents and send them to TrustedHousesitters within the required time frame;
(c) any notification is returned as undeliverable as addressed; or
(d) that person has, in TrustedHousesitters reasonable opinion, breached these Terms and Conditions.
5.5. If a winner is disqualified, TrustedHousesitters will select an alternative winner in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
5.6. The winner agrees to participate in publicity, media or advertising accompanying or resulting from this contest without additional remuneration.
6. Use of an entrant’s information, photographs and videos
6.1 By entering the contest and submitting any photo, video, caption or other content (“User Content”), each entrant confirms that:
(a) they are the creator/owner of the User Content or have all necessary permissions to submit it and grant the rights in these Terms and Conditions;
(b) if any person is identifiable in the User Content, they have obtained that person’s permission for the User Content to be submitted to TrustedHousesitters and used as described in these Terms and Conditions; where a child is identifiable, the entrant confirms they are the child’s parent/guardian or have the permission of the child’s parent/guardian;
(c) the User Content does not infringe any copyright, trade mark, privacy, publicity or other rights of any third party, and is not unlawful, offensive, defamatory or inappropriate.
6.2 By submitting User Content, each entrant grants TrustedHousesitters a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, copy, reproduce, publish, display, communicate and share the User Content for the purposes of:
(a) administering and judging the contest; and
(b) promoting the contest and TrustedHousesitters (including related PR and marketing activity),
including on TrustedHousesitters’ websites, social media channels, email, press releases and other marketing materials.
6.3 TrustedHousesitters may crop, resize, reformat, add branding/captions, and make other reasonable edits to User Content for publication, provided the overall meaning of the content is not materially distorted.
6.4 TrustedHousesitters is not obliged to publish or use any User Content and may refuse, remove or discontinue use of any User Content at its discretion.
6.5 Unless otherwise stated on the contest page, TrustedHousesitters may use User Content for up to 12 months from the contest closing date for the purposes set out in clause 6.2, after which it may retain only what is reasonably necessary for legal, compliance and record-keeping purposes.
6.6 If an entrant wishes to withdraw permission for future use of User Content that contains personal data, they may contact TrustedHousesitters using the details in the Privacy Policy or on the contest page. TrustedHousesitters will stop future use where required by law and reasonably practicable, but may not be able to retract materials already published or distributed before the request is received.
6.7 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions transfers ownership of the entrant’s User Content to TrustedHousesitters.
6.8 To the extent permitted by law, the entrant agrees not to assert any moral rights in the User Content in a way that prevents TrustedHousesitters from using the User Content in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
7. Data Protection
7.1 TrustedHousesitters will process personal information submitted as part of this contest (which may include images/videos where individuals are identifiable) for the purposes of administering the contest, judging entries, contacting entrants and winner, prize fulfilment, and (where applicable) using User Content in accordance with clause 6.
7.2 If an entrant chooses to opt in to receive marketing communications, TrustedHousesitters may use their contact details to send marketing emails in accordance with the entrant’s preferences. Marketing consent is optional and can be withdrawn at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
7.3 Personal information collected by TrustedHousesitters is handled in accordance with TrustedHousesitters’ Privacy Policy https://www.trustedhousesitters.com/privacy-policy/ The Privacy Policy explains how TrustedHousesitters uses personal data, how long it is retained, and entrants’ rights.
7.4 TrustedHousesitters may publish limited winner information to announce the winner and promote the contest, such as the winner's first name, general location (city/country), social handle (if provided) and the winning entry. The winner may object to publication or request that the amount of information published is reduced, and TrustedHousesitters will comply where reasonably practicable. However, TrustedHousesitters may still make the winner's first name and general location available on request (in a proportionate form) to demonstrate that the prize has been awarded.
7.5 TrustedHousesitters will not sell entrants’ personal information to third parties.
8. TrustedHousesitters rights and exclusion of liabilities
8.1. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit the liability of any party for personal injury or death caused by negligence or for anything else which cannot be excluded or limited by law.
8.2. Subject to paragraph 8.1, each entrant agrees that neither TrustedHousesitters nor any of their employees, agents or subcontractors shall be responsible or liable for:
(a) any incorrect, inaccurate or faulty or failed electronic data transmissions; and/or
(b) any communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilised in any aspect of the contest; and/or
(c) any inaccessibility or unavailability of all or any part of the Internet, or any combination thereof; and/or
(d) any system failures of all or part of Social Media or similar; and/or
(e) the failure of any third party to fulfil any of its obligations in relation to the contest, although TrustedHousesitters will always endeavour to minimise the effect of any such failure; and/or
(f) any postponement or cancellation of the contest; and/or
(g) any change to the Prize; and/or
(h) any act or default of any third-party suppliers.
8.3. TrustedHousesitters reserves the right to amend at any time, time periods and notification dates to the extent legally permissible should circumstances make this necessary or to cancel this contest before the closing date.
8.4. If the contest is cancelled for any reason, TrustedHousesitters shall not be held liable by virtue of that cancellation.
8.5 In the event of circumstances outside the reasonable control of TrustedHousesitters, or otherwise where fraud, abuse, and/or an error (human or technical) affects or could affect the proper operation of this promotion or the awarding of prizes, TrustedHousesitters reserves the right to cancel or amend these terms and conditions at any stage, but will endeavor to minimise the effect to entrants in order to avoid undue disappointment.
8.6 TrustedHousesitters’ decision is final and binding in all matters in connection with this contest and no correspondence will be entered.
9. The prize
9.1. There is no cash alternative to the prize. However, TrustedHousesitters reserves the right to substitute the advertised prize or any part of the prize for a prize equivalent or greater in monetary value should this be necessary for reasons beyond its reasonable control.
9.2. The prize only includes what is expressly stated to be part of the prize and it is non-transferable (unless otherwise agreed in writing by TrustedHousesitters). The prize is valid for one year upon purchase.
9.3 All prizes listed in 1.1 are in US Dollars. Vouchers and/or donations can be provided in AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, NZD or USD. The currency value will be converted from the USD value at the exchange rate on the day of purchase of voucher or donation of funds to charity.
9.4 The winner is responsible for any tax liability they incur as a result of accepting a prize. The winner is encouraged to seek independent financial advice before accepting a prize if the tax implications concern them.
10. Applicable law
10.1. If any of these Terms and Conditions are deemed to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, the affected provision(s) shall be deleted from these Terms and Conditions but the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
10.2. This contest and disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with it shall be construed in accordance with English Law.
10.3. By entering this contest, all entrants agree that the Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claims that arise out of or in connection with this contest.
