How do I become a house sitter?
Register for free to start exploring our platform. If you're interested in a membership plan, we offer three annual memberships – Basic, Standard and Premium.
As a new sitter member, you'll need to create a profile, add external references, and verify your ID. Once that's done, you can start exploring and applying to sits.
Do I get paid to house sit?
No money changes hands between members. All sitter and pet parent members pay an annual fee, plus £9 booking fee per sit (Basic and Standard plans). This unlocks unlimited access to global house sits for a year. So, sitters get to stay in cool locations near and far, in exchange for caring for pets while the pet parents travel.
How easy is it to get a sit?
There are more sits on TrustedHousesitters than on all other global house sitting websites combined, so you've come to the right place. You can increase your chances of being chosen for a sit by creating a detailed profile with photos, and adding references.
How do I get selected for sits?
Sitters apply for a sit with a personalized message. The pet parent reviews all applications and will reach out if they want to take next steps. They may want to set up a video call to get to know you better and see if you're the right fit.
What happens if something goes wrong?
Membership Services are available 24/7 if you need help or advice. Use the chat button in the bottom right corner of the TrustedHousesitters website to get started. Premium and Standard members can also access the Vet Advice Line for free advice and consultations.
What are my responsibilities as a sitter?
Pet parents will give you clear instructions about their pet's daily walks, feeding times, playtime and cuddles. You'll also be expected to keep the home clean and tidy, and may be asked to water plants, take out recycling, and collect the post, for example.
Pet parents also complete a Welcome Guide for sitters with important details and instructions.
