Paw-in-paw with Helen Woodward, we’re celebrating Remember Me Thursday. Since 2013, the event has been spreading one life-saving message: opt to adopt. Why? Pet adoption saves lives, and #RememberMeThursday helps to shine a light on orphan pets waiting in shelters for a loving family and their forever home. To find out how you can get involved, take a look below and find some of our members’ most touching rescue stories to date - tissues at the ready…

Rescue pet stories from the TrustedHousesitters community...
A tale of hope, love, and puppies: Holly
The saying goes, that “saving one dog will not change the world, but for that one dog, the world will change forever”. And that couldn’t ring more true than for Holly — a very special, very lucky little pup from Mexico. In a tale that’s guaranteed to leave a paw print on your heart, our Community Manager, Angela Laws shares how a routine care run to Mexico turned into a tale of hope, love, and a handful of puppies.
From the streets to jet-setting around the world: Chia
Back in 2018, Danielle and Brodin took Chia off the streets of Mexico. She roamed with no pet parents to look after her, and to say that the pair turned her life around is an understatement. They took her into love and safety that for all they knew, she’d never experienced properly before. Fast-forward to now, Chia is living her best life as she follows her pet parents around the globe, staying in cool homes and meeting new fluffy friends.
He was a real Fred Basset of a dog: Milo
Long-time rescue owners Lynn and Bruce began their pet sitting story back in 2017 after adopting their two Lhasa Apso rescue dogs, Milo and Gracie. Here’s their story all about how joining the TrustedHousesitters community enabled them to have the best of both worlds - and how their special little rescue dogs helped them to reconnect with their family, as well as sitters from all over the world…
