There’s always something happening on our Community Forum, and the past couple of months have been no exception! From thoughtful homeowner gestures and a selection of pics for International Dog Day to tips for staying cool and the latest site updates, here are some of the highlights you may have missed.

Must-read discussion

@Rhe kicked off a discussion about homeowners who go the extra mile to make their sitters feel welcome. She shared a photo of a delicious spread of fresh veggies, fruit, and fish (plus a couple of bottles of wine and beer that didn’t make it to the picture!).

Other members shared their own stories of being treated, from chocolates and toiletries to homemade meringues. Yum!!

Forum member shout-out

Regular contributor @Maggie8K is always sparking important conversations, sharing tips and asking questions other members have on their minds. Most recently, she asked for advice on staying cool in hot destinations. Our members responded with first-hand reviews of various wearable fans – weighing in on comfort, battery life, noise levels, and of course, how well they actually work.

Lately, the Meetup Gallery has been full of sitters and pet parents who are connecting all over the world! Here’s a lovely snap of @MissCatUK and @KC1102 enjoying a get-together in the beautiful city of Bath.

As expected, our callout for pics on International Dog Day was a huge hit. It was hard to choose just one to share, but @Catherine.L’s snap of Honey snoozing really stole the show!

Meanwhile, @Highfive shared an adorable pic of her current furry companion crunching on a carrot, which prompted others to share their furry friends’ favorite healthy treats. We particularly liked @Crookie’s photo of her pup with a carrot ‘lollipop’.

What you need to know

Helping applicants get noticed

@alibombali recently suggested improving communication during the sit application process. Great minds think alike, and we’ve introduced an update to achieve exactly that: when pet parents receive five applications, they’ll now see a prompt encouraging them to review them.

There’s still more work to do to ensure every application gets acknowledged, but it’s a step in the right direction – and we’re grateful for the community input that helps us keep improving!

Introducing two-factor authentication

Earlier this year, we announced that two-factor authentication (2FA) would be coming to help keep accounts even more secure. With this update, you’ll enter a one-time code sent to your email each time you log in. This work is ongoing, and we’re asking members to verify their email addresses when prompted to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Loving these highlights?

Come join the conversation! The Community Forum is the go-to place for all things house and pet sitting (and plenty more!). It’s a friendly space to connect with others, ask questions, share your tips, or even tell your story. We’d love to hear from you!
