Whether you're a pet parent or an avid dog-lover, it's always nice to know where our furry friends are welcome. If you and your puppy pal happen to be looking for tasty food or a cheeky drink in a bar, we have some paw-fect options for you and your pup to go barking mad over!

We've rounded up some of the best dog friendly cafes in Glasgow for anyone who's new to the city, house sitting in Glasgow, or just keen to explore some new places. And if you're looking for somewhere to go when the sun goes down, your pooch can stay out as late as their human (or four leggies) will let them at one of our favourite dog friendly pubs in Glasgow.

Let's find the perfect place for paws and pup pals, starting in Glasgow's vibrant Southside...

The best dog friendly cafe in Glasgow Southside: Cafe Strange Brew

Address and map pin: 1082 Pollokshaws Rd, Shawlands, Glasgow G41 3XA

This popular cafe serves up mouthwatering brunch classics alongside fully-loaded sandwiches. Expect to be greeted by a flurry of friendly furry faces if sitting in here, or grab a takeaway while your pooch lets off steam in Queens Park.

The best dog-friendly cafe in Glasgow City Centre: The Singl-end (Merchant City)

Address and map pin: Singl-end Merchant City, 15 John St, Glasgow G1 1HP

Singl-end Garnethill, 263 Renfrew St, Glasgow G3 6TT

You'll be forgiven for not knowing what “singl-end” means if you're not from Scotland (and no, it's not the last slice of a loaf of bread). Otherwise known as a “one-roomed house”, “The Singl-end” is a homage to those who grew up in one-roomed houses in Glasgow. The wee cafe at Garnethill is technically two large rooms, so don't worry, there is more than enough space for you and your furry friends. The Merchant City joint is right in the city centre, where you can indulge in a spot of brunch, cake or a coffee with your four-legged friend by your side.

The best dog friendly cafe in a park: Dandelion Cafe

Address and map pin: Newlands Park Pavilion, 26 Lubnaig Rd, Newlands, Glasgow G43 2RY

Another cafe ideally located near a run-around spot, this cute neighbourhood joint is nestled amongst the greenery of Newlands Park. With friendly staff and a loyal clientele of pet parents and their pooches, what's not to love? FYI - while we haven't tried them ourselves, the free dog muffins have been given the paw print of approval by some very trusted doggies.

The best dog friendly cafe in Glasgow West End: Serenity Now

Address and map pin: 380 Great Western Rd, Glasgow G4 9HT

Dogs aren't just welcome at Serenity Now, they are “actively encouraged”. The 100% plant-based menu and homemade vegan doggy biscuits will make it hard for you to walk past with your pooch without going in for a quick nibble!

The best dog friendly cafe for coffee: Black Pine Coffee Co.

Address and map pin: 518 Great Western Rd, Glasgow G12 8EL

If you're in the market for an excellent coffee, this is the place to go. Make sure to bring pooch pals along to be in with a chance of joining the doggy picture board, a polaroid collection of the cafe's favourite (furry) regulars.

The best dog friendly cafe for vegan cakes: MAYZE

Address and map pin: MAYZE Finnieston, 974 Argyle St, Finnieston, Glasgow G3 8LU

MAYZE Dennistoun, 172 Sword Street, Dennistoun, G31 1SE

Finalist in the Scottish Cafe Awards 2022, MAYZE is known for its vegan cakes and veggie dishes. Think coronation cauliflower in rosemary focaccia, vegan cream of mushroom soup, and spicy tempeh Bahn Mi. No matter which location you're at, get ready to be photobombed by a precious pooch or two while you're taking the perfect brunch pic. And don't forget to pick up a biscuit for your best bud (furry, or otherwise).

The best dog friendly cafe for brunch: North Star

Address and map pin: 108 Queen Margaret Dr, Glasgow G20 8NZ

There's something special for pet parents, pet sitters, and their four-legged companions at this popular brunch spot. Humans - chow down on hearty sandwiches, toasts with all the toppings, and huge breakfast plates fit for a king. Pooches - start your day the right way with the best puppacino in town. But only if you're a good boy!

The best dog friendly cafe for German Shepherds: Deli Zola

Address and map pin: 11 Skirving St, Shawlands, Glasgow G41 3AB

You're bound to come across a few doggies at this French Bistro cafe, where they adore fur babies of all shapes and sizes but are particularly fond of our German Shepherd friends (if their Instagram feed is anything to go on, at least!). Grab a cosy nook by the window or sit outside if the sun's shining!

The best dog friendly pub in Glasgow West End: Inn Deep

Address and map pin: 445 Great Western Rd, Glasgow G12 8HH

Head to the riverside for a craft beer while your best bud mingles with locals in the beer garden. Yes, your human best bud can make friends in any pub, but for your best bud of the doggy variety, the Inn Deep is special. We reckon if our four-legged friends could talk, they would point us in the direction of Inn Deep, where they can enjoy free biscuits, water and lots of snuggles from the dog-loving staff.

The best dog friendly pub in Glasgow City Centre: The CLUTHA

Address and map pin: 159 Bridgegate, Glasgow G1 4SP

Run by The Clutha Trust, a music/arts charity based in Glasgow, not only does this pub welcome our friends of the furry persuasion, but it also raises money for important causes. If your sidekick makes a woof woof noise and loves the word “walkies”, it will be more than welcome to join (as long as their pet parent is into music and good old pub grub, that is).

The best dog friendly pub for drinks: The Ben Nevis

Address and map pin: 1147 Argyle St, Finnieston, Glasgow G3 8TB

This free house is a great place to soak up the traditional pub ambience with your pooch in tow. Serving drinks but no food, you can cosy up in front of the open fire while your dog enjoys five-paw treatment from the staff (and customers).

Hopefully, this has offered some inspiration for dog friendly bars, pubs, or cafes in Glasgow. As you can see, there are a wide variety of places for you and furry friend to choose from. It's important to note, while we have done our best to provide you with the top dog-friendly cafes and pubs in Glasgow, policies do change so it's best to give them a call before you turn up to avoid having to leave anyone outside (human or otherwise).
