A dog jumps through the air in a dog park.

If your four-legged friend gets the wiggles at the very idea of walkies, a visit to one of the dog parks Massachusetts has to offer is sure to get tails wagging and tippy toes tapping with excitement. Local dog sitters and pet parents alike are spoilt for choice in this state, so from the dog parks on Cape Cod to the forests and lakes of the Bay State, there’s something new for everyone on this list of dog parks in Massachusetts.

The best dog parks in Massachusetts:

  • Stodder’s Neck Dog Park
  • Agawam Dog Park
  • Pilgrim Bark Park
  • Sheepfold Dog Park
  • Peters Park Dog Park
  • Town of Falmouth Dog Park
  • Reading Town Forest
  • Sharon Dog Park
  • Dog Beach, Provincetown

Stodder’s Neck Dog Park, Massachusetts

Address and map pin: 457 Lincoln St, Hingham, MA 02043, United States

Four-legged friends can roam freely in the large off-leash dog area of this popular Hingham dog park. A rock wall stands four feet tall and the rest of the park is surrounded by water, so even the most adventurous pups will have trouble escaping from the area (although the area is so large it’s a good idea to keep your furry friend in sight!). Did we say water? After a long game of fetch in the open fields or a walk through the woodland trails along the park's perimeter, pooch pals can launch themselves off the rocky beach for a refreshing dip in the ocean.

Agawam Dog Park, MA

Address and map pin: 9-99 Armory Dr, Agawam, MA 01001, United States

This friendly dog park is ideal for socializing and stretching those legs, whether you’re on two legs or four! Two separate areas for small and large breeds keep pups from getting overwhelmed, and agility obstacles include metal hoops to weave between, rocks to jump over, and tires to clamber on. A paved path runs around the edge of the dog area so pet parents can take a leisurely walk, and there are also benches dotted throughout the park. High fences reduce the risk of escapees, and the park is also equipped with doggy water fountains, poop bags, and lots of space in the parking lot

Pilgrim Bark Park, Provincetown

Address and map pin: 227 US-6, Provincetown, MA 02657, United States

This Provincetown dog park has an acre of fenced-in space for pups to get their wiggles out, sniff around, and make furry friends. Donations help keep this park clean and equipped, with water fountains and poop bags available, and a separate area for small pooch pals under 25 pounds. Aside from being a puppy playground, the park also houses a growing collection of artworks from local artists - an added bonus for pet parents to enjoy while their fur babies let off some steam!

Sheepfold Dog Park, Massachusetts

Address and map pin: Fells Path, Stoneham, MA 02180, United States

This peaceful off-leash dog park is located in the middle of Middlesex Fells Reservation, with acres of space to explore and breathtaking views of the reservoirs. If Fido’s not feeling too social, put him back on the leash and head out of the dog park to follow the trails running through the nature reserve.

Peters Park Dog Park, Boston

Address and map pin: 1205 Washington St, Boston, MA 02118, United States

Pet parents will love catching up with friends at this South End dog park, and so will your pooch pals! Slabs of stone make great lookout points and the gravel flooring keeps pups from getting too muddy, while the area is kept clean by a friendly community of volunteers and animal lovers who welcome donations in order to maintain this popular dog park.

Town of Falmouth Dog Park, Massachusetts

Address and map pin: 257 Brick Kiln Rd, East Falmouth, MA 02536, United States

This park is surrounded by trees and greenery, making it the perfect spot for relaxation, fresh air, and pooch pals. Aside from the scenery, the park has 1.6 acres of space for pups to enjoy their favorite time of day, and areas are separated into a “small dog area”, an “acclimation and time out area” and an “all dog” area. As the only dog park on the Upper Cape, this is the ideal place to bring pups all year round!

Reading Town Forest, Massachusetts

Address and map pin: Strout Ave, Reading, MA 01867, United States

This 300-acre forest is perfect for hiking, biking, and taking a leisurely stroll with your pup on the leash. Quiet pathways trail through the trees with streams and ponds on either side and Fido’s sure to make a fair few furry friends along the way. There are several trails to choose from, ranging from easy to moderately difficult, so you can pick the route that best suits your pooch pal’s energy levels.

Sharon Dog Park, Massachusetts

Address and map pin: Sharon Dog Park, 34 E Foxboro St, Sharon, MA 02067, United States

There’s plenty of space for pups to get their steps in at Sharon Dog Park, and agility equipment allows pooch pals to get a good workout in while they play. The double gated entrance means pet parents don’t need to worry about escapees, and the area is split into two for small and big dogs. Tennis balls, poop bags, and benches can all be found inside the dog park, and trails weave through the woods outside the off-leash zone.

Dog Beach, Provincetown

Address and map pin: 55 Commercial St, Provincetown, MA 02657, United States

We couldn’t finish this list of Massachusetts dog parks without including one of the beaches that allow dogs in Massachusetts! This one may be small, but your pup can enjoy a run around off the leash from 6-9am and 6-9pm during the summer months and all day in the winter. Note that most of the dog beaches in Massachusetts have similar leash requirements throughout the year.
