London connections - Tom, Chloe & Cobweb's story

While looking for an alternative pet care option for Cobweb the cat, Tom and Chloe were introduced to TrustedHousesitters. Despite living in central London, Tom and Chloe felt limited by their pet care options and were reluctant to use a cattery. Reassured by the recommendation and reputation of TrustedHousesitters, Tom and Chloe added their first listing to the site in 2015. 

Four years later and the pair are still welcoming sitters into their Putney home from across the world. When talking about their experiences of using the site, Tom said;

“When going away, we often relied on friends or Chloe’s mum to look after Cobweb, but for longer trips, we needed an alternative. After reading about TrustedHousesitters, we loved that the sitter would step into our shoes, meaning Cobweb could sleep in her own bed and get to know the sitters.

After putting up our first listing, we had over 50 applications which felt slightly overwhelming, but this gave us plenty of choice when picking a sitter. Our first sitter, Katie, came all the way to London from Australia, but we had a couple of crossover days with her. Cobweb took to her immediately which was reassuring for us. Since then, we’ve had nothing but great experiences with the site.

We’ve never struggled with finding a sitter but we feel much of this is down to adorable Cobweb and our location. We’ve found a lot of local sitters which is great because we can meet them in person before the sit, but there are also lots of international sitters looking to experience London.

Although we miss Cobweb when we are away, TrustedHousesitters has the trust element that we were looking for, and using the app makes the whole experience really pleasurable.”
