Questions about pet and dog sitting

No, unlike other platforms, our sitters sit for love, not money. After paying an annual membership, no money changes hands between our members.

It’s a win-win situation. Sitters exchange their love and care for a stay in your home and the chance to make new furry friends. While pet parents can travel with peace of mind, knowing their pets are loved and cared for.

Our sitters love all kinds of homes and locations. For them, it’s less about grand accommodation and more about staying in real homes and living like a local.

They prefer cosy homes where they can embed themselves in the local community, spend time with adorable pets and make special travel memories.

So as long as your home is clean, tidy and welcoming, our sitters would love to stay.

The first thing to do is to register for free. Once you’re registered, you can explore our platform and decide which membership plan is right for you. We offer three annual memberships – Basic, Standard and Premium.

After you’ve chosen and paid for your membership, you can create your listing. This is your chance to describe your home and pets, and add the dates you’ll be away.

As soon as your listing is live, pet sitters can apply. You can browse their applications and shortlist the ones you think are right. You also have the option to invite sitters directly.

We recommend meeting face-to-face or via video call before confirming the sit to make sure it’s a good match for your home and pets.

Most pet parents confirm a sitter within a day. But this can vary depending on your location and the level of detail you’ve shared in your listing.

For extra peace of mind, our Standard and Premium Pet Parent memberships include a Money Back Promise. Which means if you don’t find a sitter within 14 days, we’ll refund you.

We know arranging to have a pet sitter in your home for the first time may seem daunting. But we do everything in our power to keep all our members safe:

Verified by us
We do background and/or ID checks, ask for external references and verify email addresses and phone numbers.

Verified by others
After a sit, our pet parents rate and review their sitter and give honest feedback.

Verified by you
You can screen sitters before you commit by meeting them face-to-face or via a video call.

Our Home and Contents Plan covers you for up to $1 million against property damage, theft and sitter accidents. This is included in our Standard and Premium Pet Parent memberships.

Premium Pet Parent members also benefit from our Sit Cancellation Plan that protects you in case your sitter cancels.

And lastly, our Standard and Premium Pet Parent memberships include a Money Back Promise. Which means if you don’t find a sitter within 14 days, we’ll refund you.

The average cost of pet sitting in Spain is $2.08 per hour, $83.33 per week for 40 hours or $270.83 per month for 130 hours.

With an annual TrustedHousesitters membership plan, you can connect with a community of verified pet sitters from near and far, who exchange loving pet care for a place to stay on their travels.

Our pet sitters don’t charge for their services, and no money changes hands between our members. They do it because they love pets and travel, so, in exchange for a place to stay, they’ll look after your pets and take care of your home while you’re away.

Our members are hobby pet sitters - meeting animals and traveling the world is their passion, not their job. Exchanging pet care for a place to stay, sitters explore the globe and care for the pets in it.

Sure - to connect with in-home dog sitters in Spain experienced with anxious pets, share your pet’s needs in your listing, and chat with sitters before confirming. We recommend reading sitter reviews and exploring their profiles to find someone to suit your furry family member.

To find a sitter who can care for multiple pets at once, share all of your pets and their needs in your listing. Our in-home sitters will stick to each pet’s routine and keep feeding, exercise, grooming and training schedules in check.
