7 telltale signs you love your pet more than your partner

Most of us pet parents would proudly exclaim from the rooftops just how much we love our pets. But… have you ever noticed a slight side-eye from your partner while you’re fussing over Fido? Or does your partner complain about getting nudged off the sofa, while Felix happily flexes his paws wherever he wishes? If so, we have some news for you: it might be possible that, yes, you love your pet more than your partner.

1. You greet your pet first when you walk through the door…

2. …And make sure to give them (and only them) lots of kisses when you leave

After all, you can always text your partner throughout the day. Your pet? Not so much (although, we're begging the big science and technology moguls to catch up on this one).

3. They get fed before you (or your partner) - and get way more treats

“Queen Cleo on the value pack kitty kibble? I will hear nothing of it! Oh, and honey, I’m busy tonight, so can you can sort your own dinner out, please? Thanks.”

4. You’ve asked your partner to sit on the floor - because your pet has stolen their usual spot on the sofa

I will die before I wake up my precious mog from her 18th (or is it 19th?) nap of the day. 

5. Your phone camera roll is approximately 99% pet, 1% partner 

To be fair, your partner probably doesn’t look quite as cute when they’re sleeping. Hence 7,385 near-identical photos…

6. You plan your life around your pet

“Thanks for inviting me to your wedding! Unfortunately, that’s the day of Fluffy's birthday, so I will need to politely decline.”

7. Lastly, you definitely miss them more than your partner when you’re away

And ask your pet sitters for a minimum of 17 photos, 8 videos, one video call, and a voice note of them snoring. For your one-night trip. That's just an hour's drive away. Ahem…
