Topic of the month

As we rang in the New Year, our lovely members were busy on the forum sharing their 2022 wrap-ups - and introducing us to just a few of the many new places (and new pets!) they countered across the previous year. 

In this topic, our member @Colin kicked us off with his yearly tally and shared some of his incredible experiences from 2022, which included 282 nights(!) of pet sitting, and 29 furry friends.

Member @Joanne followed suit, sharing her own 2022 round-up - which included a list of travel destinations nearly as long as your arm (and almost as many furry, feathered, and fluffy new friends!). It’s not too late to share your own numbers - so why not pop on over and let the forum know what you were up to in 2022?

Category of the month

“Hi, my name is…” 👋 This month, our new members arrived in droves to introduce themselves to the community and share their plans for the New Year, in our ever-popular category, Introduce Yourself.

One member in particular, @cbassano, came to the forum to share the good news that they’d already found a sitter for their upcoming trip and their big plans for the year ahead - to eventually go house sitting themselves!

This month, we’re giving a paws up to our lovely member, @Amparo. Always welcoming new members on board with positivity and helpful advice (not to mention, a great sense of humor!), @Amparo is an active member of the community, always delivering great insights - and some excellent use of emojis!

This month’s top quote comes from member @crewman in our topic of the month, 2022 House sitting numbers. After sharing their yearly wrap-up (which included no less than 145 days of house sitting and 76 pets - not including an entire tank of koi carp!), left us with these parting words:

“As my partner and I keep saying to each other as we sit next to the pool with a glass of wine… It’s a hard life but someone has to do it!”

In this forum topic, member @Eandnhousesit started up a great conversation about full-time house sitters - discussing everything from having a homebase to the best ways to get your mail, with members sharing their own experiences and how they travel and adventure on the road. This month, our members were sharing their bucket list destinations and some seriously FOMO-inducing travel pics, in our ever-popular Travel Talk category. 

In the topic Must Sees Around The World - Part 1, member @Samox24 kicked us off with their number one must-see: The Grand Canyon, along with some great tips if you’re planning to visit for the first time.
