You can edit your Welcome Guide at any time, even if you don't have a confirmed sitter. But once they are confirmed, it's important to get started so everyone is fully prepared for the upcoming sit.
How do I complete my Welcome Guide?
The Welcome Guide is a fantastic tool that you can share with your confirmed sitter to include more detail about your home and pet's needs that they can then access before and during the sit.
To create and edit your Welcome Guide through the website:
- Log into your account.
- On your dashboard, click on 'Listing'.
- Click on ‘Welcome Guide’.
- Click the 'Edit' button next to the different sections of the Guide (Home, Pet care, etc).
- Once you're in the relevant section, simply click 'Edit' on the right-hand side.
- Select 'Add' to enter your information.
- Click 'Apply' and finish by clicking ‘Save all changes’.

Can I create my Welcome Guide using the app?
Sure thing, here are the steps for completing your Welcome Guide with the TrustedHousesitters app:
- Log into your account via the app.
- Click 'Listing' at the bottom of the screen.
- Select 'My Welcome Guide'.
- Select the section you'd like to add information to.
- Click 'Edit' in the top right-hand corner.
- Click the 'Edit' button next to the different sections of the Guide (Home, Pet care, etc).
- Once you're in the relevant section, simply click 'Edit' on the right-hand side.
- Enter the information and select 'Apply'.
- Scroll down and click 'Save all changes'.
How do I share the Welcome Guide with my sitter?
To share your Welcome Guide, your sitter will need to be officially confirmed. Once your sitter is confirmed, you will be presented with the option to share the Guide via the Dashboard.
- Log into your account via the website
- Depending on what device you are using either click your name or the three lines in the top right corner
- Select 'Dashboard'
- Under the 'Your dates' section and the relevant dates
- Click 'Share Welcome Guide'
And confirm by clicking 'Share Welcome Guide' again - this will send a copy of your guide to the sitter and they will have access to this prior to and during the sit via their Dashboard. Please note if the 'Share Welcome Guide' button is not visible on your Dashboard this means the Guide has already been shared.
Can I share my Welcome Guide using the app?
Yes! To share your Welcome Guide via the app:
- Log into your account via the app
- Click 'Dashboard' along the bottom
- Under the 'Upcoming sitter' section click on the sitters profile icon
- Click 'Share my Welcome Guide'
- Select 'Share with sitter' along the bottom
You can update your Welcome Guide at any point after you have shared it with your sitter. As soon as you click the 'Save' button when editing it, this will automatically update the sitter's version as well. They will also see an 'Updated' banner across the Guide on their Dashboard to let them know changes have been made.
How will my sitter access the Welcome Guide?
When you have shared your guide with your chosen sitter, they will be able to access the Welcome Guide from their dashboard until the last day of the house sit.

Once you've completed your Welcome Guide, it'll be saved so it's ready and waiting for you to share with your next sitter.
