Johnny Steele Dog Park, Houston

Address and map pin: 2929 Allen Pkwy, Houston, TX 77019

The two-acre Houston dog park inside Buffalo Bayou Park is a popular spot to stretch those legs, whether you’re on two legs or four. Take note though, things can get messy down at the dog park as water babies splash around in the pond before drying themselves off on the sandy area, but coming home with a mucky pup is a sign of a good time, right?! Separate areas for large and small dogs keep tails of all shapes and sizes wagging and shady areas and drinking fountains mean that puppy playtime can take place come rain or shine.

Millie Bush Dog Park, Houston

Address and map pin: 16101 Westheimer Pkwy, Houston, TX 77082

Let furry friends run wild in the safety of this fenced and double-gated enclosure, which might just be the best dog park in Houston! With no less than three swimming areas and eight acres of space for pups to feel the wind in their ears, the park is peppered with benches, trees, and water fountains galore, and it even has a large enclosure for small pups! Poop bags are often provided but it’s always best to bring your own, and four-pawed pals can be washed off at the bathing station at the end of a fur-tastic day out.

Danny Jackson Family Bark Park, Houston

Address and map pin: 4828 1/2 Loop Central Dr, Houston, TX 77081

For a long, thin slice of puppy paw-ridise, head to the closest thing to a dog water park Houston’s got. With pools of water to splish and splash around in and lots of space to let off steam, pups could spend all day sniffing, swimming, and socializing inside this gated dog park. Wash muddy paws off in the water fountains at the entrance and park your car for free - an added bonus!

Congressman Bill Archer Dog Park, Houston

Address and map pin: 3201 Hwy 6 North, Houston, TX 77084

With loads of room to run, agility equipment to play with, and even a bone-shaped pond (for dogs) to swim and cool off in, this is one of the dog parks Houston hounds “ruff” the most! Whether you’re a local or house sitting in Houston, this huge puppy playground is well worth a visit and the separate zones for small and large breeds are just waiting to be scouted out by four-legged friends.

Ervan Chew Dog Park, Houston

Address and map pin: 4502 Dunlavy St, Houston, TX 77006

Officially the first off-leash dog park in Houston, Ervan Chew Dog Park has 9,000 square feet of space for pups (and their paw-rents) to run around free from the leash. The fully-fenced park officially opened in 2004, quickly becoming the go-to spot for local doggies with a sense of adventure and selective hearing. The free parking makes it easily accessible, and there are benches and shady spots aplenty.

Levy Dog Run, Houston

Address and map pin: 3700 Wakeforest Ave., Houston, TX 77098

Green hills covered in turf, tunnels to explore, and water spouts to play with - this dog park will give any adventure playground a run for its money. With a separate space for large and small dogs, it’s a great spot for pooch pals and their parents to have a good old chin wag and is reported to be one of the cleanest dog parks in Houston. The double gated entrance means pups can’t go wandering off-piste but it’s still safe for them to enjoy all the off-leash fun

Powder Keg Dog Park Bar, Houston

Address and map pin: 1300 Brittmoore Rd, Houston, TX 77043

Looking for a place where four-pawed pals can have a run around while you enjoy a selection of cocktails, craft beers, and food trucks? This Houston dog park bar ticks all the boxes, it’s the paw-fect spot for a sunny afternoon or an evening aperitif and the best part is your favorite furry friends don’t have to stay at home!

TC Jester Dog Park, Houston

Address and map pin: 4201 T C Jester Blvd, Houston, TX 77018

Follow the walking trail through TC Jester Park with Fido on the leash before letting him loose in this designated doggy park, which is filled with sandy and grassy spots and lots of shade. There’s something for everyone at this Houston dog park, with separate areas for smaller pups who need a breather and benches for pet parents and dog sitters to take a break from endless games of fetch.

Gene Green Beltway 8 Dog Park, Houston

Address and map pin: 6500 East Sam Houston Pkwy N, Houston, TX 77049

This large dog park has heaps of space to run around and play fetch, a swimming pond for furry friends to practice their doggy paddle, and a smaller splash pad for little pups to enjoy some time out. Wilderness trails run alongside paved paths inside the enclosed wooded area and there are doggie showers to wash the day off before going home.

Ella & Friends Dog Park, Houston

Address and map pin: 0460290000079, Deer Park, TX 77536

Like most Houston dog parks, amenities include water fountains and poop bags (although always come prepared), but this park also has sandboxes for a bit of “ruff” and tumble and some agility equipment for your pooch to test out their skills. This is also one of the few dog parks in Houston that has street lamps, so furry friends and dog owners can still head here after dark.
